Metabolism, Selenium and the importance of BILE

Issues with weight gain are understandably often linked with Thyroid complications and it is very prudent to be aware of this.

However, a research team at Harvard Medical School have published an article highlighting a rarely reported cause of your lagging metabolism, and why those stubborn kilos won’t come off, no matter how hard you exercise.

So what is the cause? In one word; BILE (a lack of). A healthy supply of Bile, supports fat digestion and is essential for breaking down fats in order to avoid bloating or heaviness after meals. Moreover, fat soluble vitamins such as A, D, E and K as well as healthy fats, depend on bile to be absorbed and assists the Liver in flushing out waste so that toxins don’t get recirculated. Let’s remember that the Liver is the second largest organ in your body and has a tough enough job with its 13 major roles & responsibilities, and Bile Production is one of them.

Another name for Bile is Gall. That’s where your Gall Bladder gets its name. It is located below your Liver and is where your Bile is stored.

Bile secretion/activation is stimulated by hormones when you eat a meal containing fat where the Bile is then pushed into the Small Intestine/Duodenum. The Bile Fats emulsify/mix together and break large molecules of fat into smaller ones, with the smaller molecules broken down, it makes it easier for the digestive enzymes (Amylase, Protease, Lipase) to break down the nutrients (food) for energy conversion.

One metaphorical way of describing this used by the American nutritional expert Ann Louise Gittelman is as follows; “picture a sink full of dishes after a big Sunday Breakfast… Bacon fat, Egg Yolk, Butter, all of it…Now try to scrub that out of the sink WITHOUT a GOOD DETERGENT (or Liquid Soap and a BRILLO PAD). That grease isn’t going anywhere”.

‘BILE is your Body’s DishWashing Soap/Detergent’. It’s the fluid your liver produces specifically to break down the dietary fats from every meal you eat so that your body can absorb them, use them, burn them up. If your supply dries up, those fats don’t get processed, they get stored. That is however, only part of the story, and it isn’t even the most important part.

Moreover, what many Doctor’s haven’t concluded (because they don’t do any extended training at Medical School on the importance of nutrition) in joining the dots together vis-a-vis energy mobilisation and overall health is that Bile is the very thing (along with Selenium) that activates your Thyroid hormone T4. This converts into the active form that your body actually runs on, which is called T3. Bile is what actually triggers that Enzyme. When your Bile is thick, sluggish, or simply running low, that conversion slows to a crawl, and your Thyroid, no matter how faithfully you take your medication or how well you eat, simply cannot do what it was designed to do, maintain your energy cycle at a high rate. NOTE: One key baseline medical reading that your metabolism is slow is that your temperature is consistently below 36 degrees celsius.

Researchers in Finland have also found that people with reduced Bile Flow are SEVEN TIMES more likely to suffer from Hypothyroidism. Estimates put it that up to 49% of Men over the Age of 40 could be dealing with poor or insufficient bile function right now. One supplement used to support the processing of FATS is CHOLINE.

Choline is used to synthesise acetylcholine, a neuro-transmitter involved in muscle control and numerous functions of the nervous system. Choline is involved in early development of the brain, gene expression, cell membrane signalling, and brain metabolism. Although human beings synthesise choline in the liver, the amount produced naturally is insufficient to meet cellular functions, requiring that some choline be obtained from foods or dietary supplements. Foods rich in Choline include Cruciferous Vegetables (Cabbage, Kale, Cauliflower, Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts….), good quality Red Meat, Poultry, Eggs….

YES! Before you ask, the relationship between Bile Secretion and Dietary Fats is Double-Directional (Bi-Directional). Dietary Fats act as the Primary Trigger for Bile Secretion whilst Bile is the necessary Agent for Emulsifying and Processing those Fats for Absorption. Bile does not Chemically digest FATS like an Enzyme, it acts like a biological emulsifier that makes them accessible for Digestion. NOTE: Regular Consumption of Healthy Fats prevents Bile Stagnation which reduces the risk of GALLSTONES.

It is worthy of note, that Daily Stress keeps CORTISOL LEVELS Elevated and Cortisol SUPPRESSES BILE FUNCTION.

Excess Oestrogen, the kind that accumulates from Food, from Plastics, from the Environment, makes BILE Thick and unable to flow freely. Moreover, a warped, corrupt medical establishment’s promotion of flawed dietary advice that encouraged the elimination of FATS from diet in favour of a HIGH CARB lifestyle are partly to blame. Just to REITERATE, FATS are essential in keeping your BILE Levels apt and must be woven into your diet.

Imagine that, No more brain fog, dry, rough, haggard skin, nor aching between your shoulder blades after a meal. On a positive, the ability to bounce up after a good night of sleep, feeling contentment, nigh on an ability to go and do the Pole Vault if you wanted. Well, nearly!

Believe me when I tell you that you don’t want to be dealing with a Liver/Gall Bladder related issue. I was on the path of succumbing to a Hepatitis related illness that led to a horrendous jaundice, high resting pulse rate (well over 100 when just lying on my bed), nausea (I had to force food down). For about 17 days, I was just outside the waiting room for a potential appointment with the Grim Reaper. Fortunately, we identified the cause as a parasite, and an initial purge with Prune Juice followed by some Liver supportive herbs and supplements resolved the issue.

I discuss this in Module 2 of the Sigma-Cybernetics Method https://www.sigma-cybernetics.de/ where you can learn more about what your body needs to re-energise along with many more medicinal, mindset, system defying skillsets that you WILL Need with the Establishment’s 2030 agenda ‘tanking the world’ as I type this. Some will survive, some will sink. What camp do you wish to be in? Over to you.
